Youth Speak Through Dance

YAMECI dance Company presents Youth Speaks Through Dance project

3 schools from the Stockton community, Hong Kingston elementary, Fremont and Acacia middle school will be presenting a short dance project on May 22th, 6:30pm at Delta college Atherton Auditorium , Stockton. Young participants from these schools write stories or poetry about experiences that are relevant to them in Stockton. They use this outspoken platform to layer it with creative movements. This dance program showcases Stockton young talents that find ways to express themselves through spoken words and dance.Cesar Chavez high school ,Able charter school will also be featured in this event. Dont miss this opportunity to support Stockton Youth. This project is sponsored by Stockton Arts Commission,, SJDC dance department.

Full Moon Riders

This is already a third year for the Full Moon Riders! Bring your bicycle and join us for casual evening rides along the Downtown Stockton historic waterfront. The riders meet May – October on a full moon night in front of the downtown cinema, generally following a different route each month. After the ride, we meet at one of the participating downtown restaurants where FMRs can take advantage of Full Moon specials.

Ride schedule, 6 pm – 8 pm:

Wed, May 10 – Flower Moon – led by San Joaquin Bicycle Coalition, featured restaurant: Cast Iron Trading Co.

Fri, June 9 – Strawberry Moon

Sat, July 8 – Buck Moon

Mon, Aug 7 – Sturgeon Moon

Wed, Sep 6 – Harvest Moon

Thurs, Oct 5 – Hunter’s Moon

The rides are casual, unsupported and ‘ride at your own risk’ events. Participants are asked to bring lights, tools to change a flat, water, a cell phone, etc.
