Stockton Rowing Club National Learn to Row

Stockton Rowing Club will host National Learn to Row Day with three 2 hour sessions from 8 -10, 9 -11, or 10 -12. You will learn the basic stroke sequence on the ergometer and have a short row on the water. No rowing experience necessary. Seats are limited. To sign up, download forms for the learn to row classes on website and mail to SRC. This event is FREE.

Think a few extra hours a month is too little time to matter? You can make a difference by coaching at-risk and high-risk Stockton youth to success.

The Office of Violence Prevention (OVP) is offering its first Role Models – Life Coach Training for community volunteers on:

Saturday, June 3, 2017

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

McKinley Park Community Center

424 E. 9th Street

This intensive life coach training will provide lunch and certify volunteers on the skills and tools to mentor local youth using positive influence, direction, and accountability to a higher standard for their lives.

Full Moon Riders

Join us in our third year of Full Moon Riders(FMRs)! Bring your bicycle for casual evening rides along the Downtown Stockton historic waterfront. Riders meet May to October on a full moon night in front of the downtown cinema, following a different route each month.

After the ride, we meet at one of the participating downtown restaurants where FMRs can take advantage of Full Moon specials.

Ride schedule, 6 pm – 8 pm:

Fri, June 9 – Strawberry Moon

Sat, July 8 – Buck Moon

Mon, Aug 7 – Sturgeon Moon

Wed, Sep 6 – Harvest Moon

Thu, Oct 5 – Hunter’s Moon

The rides are casual, unsupported and ‘ride at your own risk’ events.

- Bring lights, tools to change a flat, water, a cell phone.

- After the ride, bicyclists enjoy Full Moon Riders’ specials at the participating restaurants.

- Free and secure parking for your bike provided.

- Children under 18 must wear a bicycle helmet and be accompanied by an adult.
