Councilmember Michael Blower was appointed by the City Council to serve the remainder of a term for Council District 4. His appointment was effective February 24, 2016, and extends for the remainder of the term, through December 31, 2016.
Councilmember Blower was raised in Stockton and attended local schools. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Idaho and currently works as the Vice President of Grupe Real Estate. He is married to Tiffany Blower and has two school age daughters, Caroline and Catherine.
Michael holds leadership positions in a number of community and business organizations including on the board of directors of the California Association of Realtors, as the Immediate Past President of the Central Valley Association of Realtors and as a member of the Rotary Club of Stockton. He has also served on the City’s Community Development Committee, as President of the School Board of First Baptist Christian School of Stockton, President of the Rotary Club of Stockton, President of the Stockton Council of the Central Valley Association of Realtors, President of the Stockton Junior Chamber of Commerce and was in leadership of the Y-Adventure Guides of the YMCA of San Joaquin County. When not working, Michael is an avid runner and enjoys spending time with his wife and family.
Michael currently serves as Councilmember for Council District 4. The District encompasses the area between March Lane and Harding Way, includes Brookside and Rough and Ready Island to the west, and extends to the city limits to the east.
Councilmember Blower holds a Community Officer Hour every month from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
