Information Technology (IT) is responsible for the implementation and management of the City Wide Technology Strategic Plan, which provides guidance and governance for all City technology objectives focused on business solutions, service reliability, innovations, and customer satisfaction.
The IT Division maintains and troubleshoots over 1,600 computers and the network that connects them. IT also provides support for the city-wide camera system (Public Works/Police), telephones and telecommunication infrastructure, and public safety/utilities radio systems. IT ensures City technology projects are well-designed, cost-effective, and conform to technical standards.

The IT Division also supports the City’s enterprise-wide network infrastructure from the Stewart-Eberhardt Building to the Municipal Utilities main office, Fire Station 2, Police Building, and the IT Division at 400 East Main. Finally, IT supports the City’s website, intranet, and Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library websites.
The mission of the IT Division is to provide City staff with innovative, responsive information-technology infrastructure and tools and to enhance and advance the use of information technology to better serve the citizens of Stockton.
