The City of Stockton was notified earlier today that the Amador County District Attorney's Office arrested and has filed criminal charges against Anthony Silva, mayor of the City of Stockton, in relation to incidents involving youth that occurred last year in 2015 at the Silver Lake Camp in Amador County. Amador County District Attorney’s Office has issued a press release with information about the Mayor’s arrest.
The Amador County District Attorney’s Office and FBI continue to investigate this case. They have asked anyone with information to call (209) 223-6444.
Silva has been relieved from the camp and effective adult supervision is in place at the camp. Law enforcement is on the scene and the children are in no immediate danger. Parents of campers are being notified by campground management staff. City staff is at the camp and will be contacting parents who either want to pick up their children or have the City make arrangements to bring their camper back to Stockton.
Silver Lake Campers Association is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Silver Lake Family Camp in Pioneer, California, and has legal oversight of camp activities and rentals through an agreement with the City of Stockton. The City holds a permit from the Federal Government for the camp land and is not the sponsor of this or any other camp activities. Due to the Association’s limited staff and volunteers, City staff has stepped in to provide assistance in ensuring the safety of the campers and facilitating their return to their families.
Anyone with information pertaining to this investigation may contact Stockton Crime Stoppers at (209) 946-0600.
