Chief of Police Eric Jones began his career with the Stockton Police Department in 1993, as a Police Officer and then Field Training Officer and Departmental Instructor. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1999, Lieutenant in 2003 and then Captain in 2005.
He was later appointed to Deputy Chief in 2008 and then Assistant Chief in 2011. On March 1, 2012, Jones was appointed as the 49th Police Chief for the Stockton Police Department.
Eric Jones holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Sacramento, a Master's Degree in Public Administration from National University ,and a graduate of the Leadership Stockton Class of 2006.
Eric Jones is a San Joaquin County native, a Stockton resident, and involved in the local community.
