Smaller Projects

Generally, small projects by home owners and electrical jobs are considered exempt from meeting the 50% recycling requirements.

Roofing Companies

Roofing companies that apply for a permit at the City of Stockton Permit Center and are generating composition roofing waste are currently exempt from the 50% recycling requirements. Even though composition roofing shingles are highly recyclable, there is currently no facility in our region that recycles composition roofing materials. Should a facility in Stockton accept roofing materials for recycling in the future, roofers will be required to recycle.

Recyling Report Required

Please remember, even if you are exempt, you must still submit a final Recycling Report to avoid fines or citations.
