These services are included in your monthly residential waste collection service at no additional charge.
Residents receive 12 extra service stickers per year for free pick up of extra garbage, recycling or green waste that will not fit in your carts.
- Once the 12 extra service stickers have been used, additional service is available at a nominal cost.
- Extra service stickers are mailed directly to the service address each year.
- New set of stickers may be used January 1 through December 31.
Residents have one opportunity each year (February 1 to October 31) to dispose of bulky solid waste and recycle items free of charge during the neighborhood clean-up program "Stockton Clean Sweep."
For more information, visit the Clean Sweep page.
Bulky waste pick-up that exceeds the Clean Sweep limits is available for a fee. Contact your garbage hauler for details. Costs can be found on the current garbage rates document.
Residential areas will be swept every other week on the day following your waste collection day. Sweeping will occur between 4 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Vehicles parked on the street, low-hanging branches or other impediments prohibit sweepers from cleaning streets and gutters. Residents are encouraged to remove vehicles and any other obstacles from the streets on sweeping days.
During Leaf Season – Oct. 1 to Dec. 31 only – your service provider will collect up to five bags of extra leaves per week at no additional charge. Visit the Seasonal Leaf Collection web page to learn more.
Christmas trees will be collected for three weeks starting the first Monday after December 25. Christmas trees should be set out for recycling on your regularly scheduled collection day. Make sure to remove all ornaments, tinsel, lights, and stands.
If you still have a Christmas tree to dispose of after the third week, please cut it into smaller pieces and place it in your organics cart for recycling.
For a small monthly fee, residents may request Back Yard Service. This service allows the customer's carts to receive collection services from a location other than at curbside. This is a convenient way to make sure you never miss your weekly collection.
Senior and disabled residents may receive Side Yard Service at no cost with medical verification. Contact your Garbage Service Providers to learn more.
