Stockton City Council has approved garbage rates and adjustments. The City's two franchised waste haulers, Republic Services and Waste Management, are authorized to charge the current garbage rates for all residential and commercial customers.
The City's contract with the waste haulers allows for an annual rate adjustment on June 1. The adjustment equals 50% of the change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) over the previous one year period.
For 2017, the CPI increase was calculated to be 1.78% of the current rates; thus, all current rates for waste services was increased by 1.78% starting June 1, 2017. Thirty days prior to the increase, Stockton residents and businesses will be provided written notice of this rate adjustment.
Residential customers are billed monthly for garbage and recycling services. The monthly charge is based on the size of your garbage bin. With this Rate Schedule, view rates for each cart size and service. A 60-gallon cart for recycling and a 90-gallon cart for green/food waste combined are provided at no additional charge.
Residential customers with questions about their garbage service charges should contact their service provider. Use the City's About Your Address feature to determine which company handles your service.
Commercial businesses are billed directly through their service providers. All billing questions should be directed to the appropriate service provider.
Discounts are available to residential customers for garbage collection services only. To qualify, the bill must be in the name of the qualifying customer and for the customer's primary residence.
