Public Art

Stockton has a robust Public Art Program so residents can enjoy museum quality art right in their own backyard. There are publicly-owned artworks at parks and civic buildings, as well as a growing number of public art pieces installed on private property.

For a list and location of completed Public Art projects in Stockton, see Public Arts Map and Legend.

Public Art Mural Program
The Stockton Arts Commission is seeking artist(s) and/or artist teams to design and paint original artwork on City-owned property. The Public Art Mural Program incentivizes mural installations by providing City funding and the means of curating the City’s collection of murals.

This program has $50,000 in available funds for artist(s) and is also available for those who have already identified funds and would like to complete a mural project on City-owned property. The guidelines and application provide guidance for artist(s) and artists teams on the process, criteria, and responsibilities associated with a mural project.

Applications for funding are due Friday, March 8, 2024 at 5:00pm and can be submitted to the Cesar Chavez Library Administrative Office (605 N. El Dorado St.) or emailed to benjamin.keisic@stocktonca.gov
